On Monday afternoon, heavy rainfall in Riga caused flooding on Latgales Street. According to the municipal transport company "Rīgas satiksme," water covered the tram tracks near the "Mazā Kalna iela" stop, temporarily halting service on routes 7 and 14 in both directions.
Weather forecasters predict that rain will continue overnight into Tuesday in many parts of Kurzeme and Northern Vidzeme, with locally strong thunderstorms expected. In Riga, skies will occasionally clear over the next 24 hours, but rain and possible thunderstorms are also forecast.
