Latgalian musician Sovvaļnīks releases new lyric video ahead of major concert
Musician Sovvaļnīks has released a lyric video for the song "…i vīns" from his album "Cārtumi", days before his major concert "Sovvaļnīkam – 18" at the Latgale concert hall "Gors".
Latgalian musician Sovvaļnīks (real name Ingars Gusāns) has released a lyric video for the song "…i vīns", which addresses the theme of making choices. The song's lyrics were written by Oskars Seiksts, and it was first performed on November 30, 2023, at the "Literāri muzikālā Andrejdiena" event at Lūznava Manor.
The new lyric video comes just days before Sovvaļnīks's major concert scheduled for September 25 at the Latgale concert hall "Gors". The video was created by Dāvis Kots, who has also collaborated with the musician on lyric videos for other songs from the new album "Cārtumi".
Sovvaļnīks has said of the song and video that nature will always prevail, and that the video depicts people trapped in cities, suggesting that one must return to nature, which represents authenticity and strength.
The recording features Sovvaļnīks, Mareks Gusāns and Gints Stankevičs. It was produced in Riga at "Factory Sounds Studio" together with music producer Gints Stankevičs.
About the musician
Sovvaļnīks has previously released three albums – "Sūplūks" (2009), "Bolts susātivs" (2010) and "Napaseitynuots" (2016). The songs on these albums were written using the words of well-known Latgalian poets, including Antons Kūkojs, Anna Rancāne, Oskars Seiksts and Valentīns Lukaševičs.
The release of the new album "Cārtumi" was supported by the State Culture Capital Foundation's target program "Development Program for Latvian Historical Lands" and the association "Latgale Region Development Agency". The project was implemented by the association "Latgale Producers' Group". The album presentation and the concert "Sovvaļnīkam – 18" will take place on September 25 at the Latgale concert hall "Gors".
