Midsummer celebrations for Latvians around the world are a significant moment when traditions are cherished even far from home. This year, Latvian communities in several countries – Australia, the United States, Hungary, Georgia, Denmark and France – gathered to herald the summer solstice.

The festivities include Latvian songs, the weaving of Jāņi wreaths, lighting bonfires and laying out festive tables. These events are not only a chance to celebrate but also to strengthen the bond with Latvia and preserve Latvian traditions for future generations.

Latvian societies abroad actively organize Midsummer events that attract both local Latvians and people of other nationalities interested in Latvian culture. Visitor numbers increase each year, reflecting the desire of Latvian communities to maintain their identity and share it with others.
