Latvian hockey players shine in Czech league: Jaks scores and assists, Gavars extends points streak

Several Latvian players competing abroad made their mark in Sunday's round of the Czech hockey Extraliga. Defenseman Jānis Jaks, who plays for Litvínov's "Verva" club, had a productive game, scoring a goal and setting up another with an assist. Despite his individual contribution, his team was unable to avoid a defeat in the match.

Gavars keeps producing

In a separate Extraliga game, forward Fēlikss Gavars drew attention with his continued consistency. He registered a point in the contest, marking the fifth consecutive game in which he has managed to score, showing steady form in the top Czech league.

Both players continue to build their reputation in one of Europe's most respected hockey competitions, where Latvian athletes have increasingly found opportunities in recent seasons.
