Latvian-Represented 'Shinjuku' Fails to Reach Challenger Quarterfinals
The Japanese team 'Shinjuku', featuring three Latvian 3x3 basketball players, suffered two defeats on Saturday at the Batam Challenger tournament and failed to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Japanese team "Shinjuku", represented by Latvian 3x3 basketball players Rihards Kuksiks, Mārcis Osis, and Pauls Gustavs Miglinieks, faced two losses on Saturday at the Challenger tournament in Batam, Indonesia, and did not reach the quarterfinals.
Seeded eighth, "Shinjuku" lost their first Group C match 11:21 to Belgium's "Antwerp". Kuksiks and Samuel Sekiguchi each scored four points for the Japanese side, Osis contributed three points and three rebounds, while Miglinieks failed to score. Jonas Fierts led the winners with six points.
In their second game, "Shinjuku" fell 17:21 to China's "DeQing". Osis was the top scorer for the Japanese team with ten points, Kuksiks added five points and five rebounds, and Miglinieks scored two points. Yunzhan Wang led "DeQing" with 14 points.
With two defeats, "Shinjuku" finished third in Group C and missed the quarterfinals. The Batam Challenger tournament offers three berths to the Malaga Masters event.
