Latvia to Host UCI Nations Cup Stage in Junior Road Cycling in 2027
Latvia has been chosen to organise a stage of the International Cycling Union's Nations Cup for juniors. The race is set for 2–4 July in the Vidzeme region, with up to 300 participants expected.

Latvia will host a stage of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Nations Cup in junior road cycling next year, from 2 to 4 July, the Latvian Cycling Federation (LRF) has announced. The series is a top-level international competition for young riders, and the Latvian stage will be one of three planned in Europe in 2027.
Up to 300 athletes from at least 25 countries are expected to take part, in both the junior men's and junior women's categories. The stage will be held in the Vidzeme region, and the programme includes a prologue and two separate stages. The LRF has promised to publish details of venues and routes soon.
Series format changed
The UCI has substantially revised the Nations Cup format for next year. Europe will host only three stages plus a grand final: the stages are planned in Belgium, France and Latvia, while the final will take place in Italy. Separate stages are also scheduled in North America, Oceania, Asia and Africa. The ten best teams from Europe will qualify for the final. The Nations Cup races will also be used to allocate quotas for the UCI World Championships and the European Championships of the European Cycling Union (UEC).
Latvian juniors' results
The junior Nations Cup is a platform where future stars of world cycling make their mark, including top performers of the Tour de France and other Grand Tours. This year the Latvian junior national team also competed successfully at this level. Arvīds Logins won medals at individual stages, while Georgs Tjumins finished 11th in the overall standings of the Tour of Germany.
