Number of Newborns in Latvia Drops by 4.9% in Four Months
In the first four months of this year, 3,642 newborns were registered in Latvia, which is 186 (or 4.9%) fewer than in the same period of 2025.
According to preliminary data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB), 3,642 newborns were registered in Latvia during the first four months of this year. This represents a decrease of 186 infants, or 4.9%, compared to the same period in 2025.
The figures indicate a continued decline in birth rates in the country. More detailed demographic information will become available after the full year data are compiled.
