Significant weather changes expected in Latvia
From Sunday, Latvia will experience cooler temperatures and more frequent rain, with heavy showers and thunderstorms possible over the weekend.

After a period of warm and mostly dry weather, significant changes are on the horizon for Latvia. According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the weather will gradually become cooler and rainier starting Sunday, July 19.
A cyclone will intensify over the weekend, bringing a precipitation zone across the country. Locally, heavy downpours and thunderstorms are expected. On Saturday night, light rain will arrive in the western regions, spreading during the day, with heavier rain in the west and central parts. Fog may form in some areas overnight.
Winds will strengthen on Saturday, coming from the south with gusts up to 15 meters per second. Nighttime temperatures will stay between +15 and +20°C. Saturday will still be hot, reaching +24 to +29°C, but Sunday will be noticeably cooler at +18 to +23°C.
Early next week, a new cyclone will develop near Latvia, leading to unstable weather. Rain will be frequent, sometimes prolonged and heavy. Days will become cooler, with temperatures around +20°C. Northerly winds will dominate, moderate and gusty along the coast.
