Several Days of Rain and Gusty Winds Expected in Latvia
Latvia will experience prolonged heavy rain from Wednesday, with strong wind gusts up to 23 m/s along the coast. The weekend will bring calmer weather and warmer temperatures.

The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center warns of several days of rain starting Wednesday. Rain is expected across most of the country, with western regions seeing prolonged and occasionally heavy precipitation. Local thunderstorms are possible. Winds will be light in inland areas, but in Kurzeme, north to northwest winds will become moderate to strong, gusting up to 15-19 m/s, reaching 20-23 m/s on the coast. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +10…+14°C, with daytime highs of +15…+20°C.
On Thursday, a cyclone center will remain over Latvia, bringing prolonged and heavy rain to western and central regions, with very heavy rain in some places and possible thunderstorms. Winds in Kurzeme will remain gusty at 15-19 m/s, up to 20-22 m/s on the coast. By Friday morning, winds will start to calm, becoming light during the day.
Friday will see intermittent rain in many areas, with local thunderstorms. The weekend will remain mostly cloudy and rainy, but gusty winds will subside. Warmer air will flow into the country, making the weekend and early next week warmer.
