The Strongest Heatwave of This Summer Approaches Latvia
A significant heatwave is expected in Latvia over the weekend and Monday, with temperatures reaching +30…+35°C in most parts and tropical nights predicted, especially Monday night.

According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC), a very warm air mass will flow into Latvia this weekend and Monday, causing the most intense heatwave of the summer so far.
Temperature Forecast
On Saturday, temperatures might reach +31°C in some places. Sunday and Monday will be even hotter, with +30…+35°C expected across most of the country. Locally, a tropical night (temperature not dropping below +20°C) is predicted for the weekend, and widely on Monday night.
Precipitation and Thunderstorms
Saturday and Sunday will be mostly dry due to an anticyclone, with only occasional rain at night. Monday will bring more rain and a potential for thunderstorms. On Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures in central and eastern regions will rise to +25…+28°C. Later in the week, the heat will subside, but the weather will remain warm and summer-like.
At the beginning of July, after the hot days, thunderclouds may form locally, bringing heavy rain showers.
