Weather in Latvia over the coming days will be shaped by cloudy skies, light rain in places and gusty winds along the coast. This is the forecast of the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the agency responsible for weather observations and forecasts in the country. Nights will cool to around zero or slightly below, while daytime temperatures will reach about +11°C.

Tuesday

Tuesday will be cloudy, with occasional clear spells. Light rain or drizzle is expected overnight in western Latvia and the Vidzeme region, and some light rain is possible elsewhere in the morning and evening. Fog will form in some districts overnight and in the morning.

From the second half of the night in Kurzeme, and during the day across the whole country, a light to moderate northwesterly or northerly wind will pick up. Night-time lows will be 0 to +5°C, a couple of degrees warmer in many coastal areas and in Kurzeme. Daytime highs will reach +6 to +11°C.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, light rain is expected in places during the first half of the night, and rain is forecast in the northeast in the afternoon. A light to moderate westerly wind will blow, while along the coast, in the first half of the night and in the afternoon, the wind will be moderate to fairly strong from the north and northwest, with gusts of up to 15 m/s. Overnight temperatures will fall to between -2 and +3°C, with +3 to +6°C in many coastal areas. Daytime highs will be similar to Tuesday, though a couple of degrees cooler in the east.

Thursday and the weekend

Thursday will bring light rain in places in eastern and central districts. A light to moderate west and northwest wind will blow, with coastal gusts reaching 15–16 m/s during the day. The night will be milder than the previous one, at +3 to +7°C and a couple of degrees warmer on the coast, while daytime highs will be +8 to +11°C.

Towards the end of the week, gusty winds will persist in places along the coast. Light rain is forecast only for Saturday. Daytime temperatures will change little, while at night they will drop close to 0°C in some small areas.
