New KIA Seltos crossover arrives in Latvia
KIA dealer Forum Auto has presented the new compact crossover Seltos in Latvia, which will complement the popular Sportage model. The starting price is 28,791 euros, with a hybrid version expected in November.

The new KIA Seltos crossover has arrived in Latvia this August, marking the model's first appearance on the European market. Its official presentation was organized by Forum Auto, KIA's representative in Latvia.
According to the company's sales manager, Edgars Saulītis, Seltos is positioned as a smaller sibling to the popular KIA Sportage. Although the crossover itself is somewhat more compact, its wheelbase is one centimeter longer than that of the Sportage, providing more legroom for rear passengers.
Engines and drivetrain
Initially, the Seltos will be offered with a 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbo engine, available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive versions. In November, a hybrid variant using the same 1.6-liter engine will join the lineup — the front-wheel-drive version will produce 154 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive hybrid will deliver 178 horsepower. The KIA Seltos hybrid will be the brand's first model with an electric all-wheel-drive system, in which an electric motor mounted on the rear axle engages the second axle when needed.
Price and target audience
The starting price of the KIA Seltos in Latvia is 28,791 euros. Saulītis notes that potential buyers could include both car rental companies and private individuals seeking an SUV for city driving who consider the Sportage too large.
The car will be manufactured in KIA's home country and comes with the brand's standard warranty of 7 years or 150,000 kilometers. Delivery time for orders is expected to be 4 to 5 months.
