A digital platform called “Doin’ App”, developed in Latvia, lets companies and content creators run challenges and involve their audiences. Its founders say it helps move the digital space from passive content consumption to active participation. For now, it operates mainly in Latvia and the Baltic states.

How the platform works

A company or content creator sets up a challenge on the platform and invites others to join through a special link. A challenge can last a single day or several weeks. During that time participants complete various tasks and share their progress through photos.

The solution is intended for a range of areas, from sport and healthy living to creative activities and building everyday habits. The creators say the approach encourages mutual motivation and a sense of community.

For companies, active audience participation allows closer relationships with customers, gives them information on engagement that is useful for marketing analysis, and encourages the creation of user-generated content (UGC).

An idea born in an education programme

The founders, Aļona Matvejeva, Zanda and Inga, met in “StartSchool”, a technology education programme. After looking at the solutions available on the market, the team concluded that messaging apps and other tools not designed for the purpose are often used to organise challenges. They therefore decided to build a single platform combining challenge organisation and participant engagement.

“Doin’ App” co-founder Aļona Matvejeva says people follow others’ activities every day, but this communication is often one-sided. In her view, as artificial intelligence plays a growing role, human connection and shared experience become even more important. Anna Andersone, head of “StartSchool”, stresses that the programme aims not only to provide technological knowledge but also to help people gain confidence in their abilities.

Next steps

The company’s next goals involve expanding cooperation with content creators and businesses, as well as growing in the international market.
