New National Research and Innovation Institute Established in Latvia
Latvia has established a new science center, the National Research and Innovation Institute (NIRI), by merging two leading research institutes to accelerate the development of new drugs, diagnostics, and medical technologies.
The National Research and Innovation Institute (NIRI) has been officially launched in Latvia, created through the merger of two of the country's foremost research institutions: the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre.
The new institute aims to boost progress in medicine and pharmaceuticals. By combining resources and expertise, NIRI intends to speed up the development and implementation of new drugs, diagnostic methods, and medical technologies.
Representatives of the institute highlight that the merger will enable more efficient use of existing infrastructure and human capital, while strengthening Latvia's competitiveness in the global scientific community.
