Average age of deceased in Latvia rises slightly

Data compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) shows that in 2025, the average age at death in Latvia was 75.9 years. This is an increase of five months compared to 2024.

The average age for men was 70.6 years, while for women it was 80.5 years, indicating that women lived nearly a decade longer on average.

A total of 26,109 deaths were recorded in Latvia in 2025, which is 552 (or 2.1%) fewer than the previous year. These figures reflect a slight decline in mortality and an increase in average lifespan.
