Latvia's Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (PMLP) has shared an unusual fact drawn from the country's Population Register - it contains a personal name that outlasts all others in length.

The name totals 41 letters and is made up of four separate words, making it the longest personal name officially registered in Latvia.

The Population Register is a state information system that stores data on all individuals registered in Latvia, including their first and last names. The register is overseen by PMLP, which is also responsible for the broader administration of residents' personal data.

The information about the longest registered name was provided in response to public interest in the diversity of language and naming practices among Latvia's residents, illustrating how varied officially registered personal names can be within state systems.
