The Latvian 3×3 hockey team will be joined by several international professional players at an upcoming tournament in Riga. Organizers have announced that Germany will be represented by Vojtech Stachowiak, Norman Hauner, and Marko Pfleger; Czechia by Matej Beran and Roman Přikryl; Estonia by Konrad Mölders, Robert Arrak, and David Timofejev; Hungary by Márton Nemes, Zsombor Garát, and Bence Horváth; Finland by Veli-Matti Savinainen; and Slovakia by Martin Mišiak. The list of participants is expected to grow with additional well-known names.
The tournament is organized under the patronage of the Latvian 3×3 Hockey Federation. The game format differs from traditional hockey: each team fields three skaters and a goaltender at a time, and the match consists of three seven-minute periods. Body checking is prohibited, and penalties result in shootout attempts where one attacker faces the goaltender while opponents try to interfere.
Between games, the event will feature „Glove Off” on-ice fights with athletes from various countries. Each fight will have three one-minute rounds. The evening program includes a light and sound show, family contests, and continuous musical entertainment.
