Latvian defense companies can apply for EU funding up to €30 million
In the second call of the European Defence Industry Programme, Latvian companies can receive up to €30 million per project to boost production capacity and strengthen supply chains.

Latvian defense industry companies have the opportunity to apply for funding in the second call of the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP). Under the programme, up to €30 million is available per project. The funding aims to significantly increase European and Ukrainian defense production capacities, strengthen supply chains, and promote cross-border cooperation.
The second call will fund the development of electronic components, defense platforms, and end products. Under the Ukraine Support Initiative (USI-IRA), joint EU-Ukraine projects for the development and production of munitions, missiles, drone and anti-drone systems will be supported. For USI-IRA projects, the funding intensity can reach up to 100% of eligible costs.
Companies must act quickly as application deadlines are approaching. The first call closed on June 16, 2026, with 83 applications from 23 EU member states and Norway, indicating high industry interest.
