On July 2, several serious accidents occurred in the Mont Blanc massif, and one of them involved a mountaineer from Latvia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the Latvian national fell from a height of over 250 meters, sustaining multiple injuries. After the incident, she was evacuated to a hospital in France, where she is currently in stable condition. Relatives have been informed, and the embassy is ready to assist if necessary.

On the same day, rescuers performed ten rescue operations in the mountain, and unfortunately, three people died in different incidents. Among the deceased were a 62-year-old Swiss citizen who died while flying a paraglider; an 80-year-old Frenchman who suffered a heart attack during a hike; and a 69-year-old British climber who fell from a height.

Mont Blanc is the highest peak in the Alps, located on the border between France and Italy. The region is popular among mountaineers and tourists, but it can also be dangerous, as evidenced by the events of July 2.
