Latvian banks earn €151.9 million in first five months
Latvian monetary financial institutions posted a profit of €151.9 million in the first five months of this year, according to the latest data.

Latvian monetary financial institutions, including banks, earned a combined profit of €151.9 million in January–May this year. In May alone, profit stood at €26.7 million.
Total assets reached €32.388 billion at the end of May, up 9.1% or €2.7 billion year-on-year. Outstanding loans to residents amounted to €16.374 billion, an increase of 13.3% compared to May 2025. Deposits from residents totaled €21.579 billion, up 9.2%.
Capital and reserves stood at €3.447 billion at the end of April, 2.9% higher than a year earlier. For context, the full-year 2025 profit was €341.7 million, down 34.5% from 2024, while the first four months of last year saw a profit of €135.8 million.
