The Latvian Basketball Union (LBS) has announced that a 2027 Basketball World Cup qualifying match between the men's national teams of Latvia and Israel will take place on November 30 in Riga, at Xiaomi Arena. The match will be open to spectators.

Israel playing away from home

Although the qualifying tournament schedule designated this as a home game for Israel, security considerations have forced the Israeli national team to hold its home matches abroad instead. Most of these relocated home games have been staged in Latvia.

As a result, the November 30 match will officially count as an Israeli home fixture, even though it will be played in Riga — a city that has become one of the main venues for Israel's basketball team to host its qualifying matches due to security concerns.
