Latvian disc golf national team, featuring Rainers Balodis, competes at World Championship

From September 8 to 12, Lithuania is hosting the World Team Disc Golf Championships, with Latvia represented by two teams in the Open and Masters divisions. Attention is drawn to Rainers Balodis, who recently won the individual world vice-championship title in the USA.

From September 8 to 12, Lithuania is hosting the 2026 World Team Disc Golf Championships, where 47 teams from 29 countries are competing for the world title. Latvia is represented by two national teams - in the Open and Masters divisions.

Open division team

Latvia's Open division roster includes Elizabete Pēkšena, Anna Damberga, Rainers Balodis, Edgars Saulītis, Renārs Strazdiņš, and Ingemārs Stalšāns. The team's reserves are Una Lokmane, Rolands Bergs, and Ralfs Galāņins.

Particular attention is drawn to Rainers Balodis, who recently won the individual world vice-championship title in the United States. He will now try to help his teammates achieve success in the team event as well.

Masters division team

Latvia's Masters division team consists of Olga Stalšāne, Irita Kaviere, Aigars Ancāns, Roberts Guļāns, Artūrs Rullis, and Reinis Stalšāns. The reserves are Santa Liepiņa, Juris Čeičs, Ivars Stoma, and Aigars Sirmovičs.

First matches

Both Latvian teams began their competition schedule on September 8. The Open division team faced Ireland's national team at 12:00, while the Masters division players played their opening match against Canada's team at 14:40.
