Latvia’s e-Prescription System Expands to Cyprus
From June 19, 2026, Latvian residents will be able to use e-prescriptions in Cyprus, while Cypriot doctors will gain access to patient basic data from Latvia’s e-Health system.

A new step in e-health cooperation
Latvia’s National Health Service has announced that as of June 19, 2026, an agreement with Cyprus on mutual exchange of e-prescriptions and basic health data will come into force. This means Latvians staying in Cyprus will be able to purchase prescription medications using their e-prescriptions.
Access to patient data
At the same time, healthcare professionals in Cyprus, while providing medical assistance to Latvian patients, will have access to certain basic patient data – specific diagnoses and information about surgical procedures performed in the last six months. This data is available in the state e-Health system.
Two-way exchange
The exchange of e-prescriptions and basic health data will occur in both directions. Consequently, Cypriot residents visiting Latvia will also enjoy similar benefits – they will be able to redeem their e-prescriptions and allow Latvian doctors to access their basic data.
