Latvian finance and investment platform Digilo, together with RoboReady, a developer of humanoid robot platform software and the official Latvian representative of Booster Robotics, announced in October 2026 that it is the first company in the country to use a humanoid robot both in everyday office work and at events and exhibitions. The initiative aims to study how artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics can be applied in business processes, and to use the technology to attract young people and teach them financial literacy in an interactive way.

Starting with guest reception

Digilo head Zane Sniedze says the decision stems from platform owner Edgars Tālums's enthusiasm for new technology and his wish to test it in real working conditions. For now, the robot greets office visitors and takes part in conferences and exhibitions. The long-term goal is to integrate it into the company's internal processes so that employees have fewer routine tasks.

Sniedze says the company does not judge the robot by a classic return-on-investment calculation; at present the main value is the knowledge and experience gained. The rollout has brought challenges, including physical navigation in the office (doors, thresholds, lifts) and linking the software with AI and company databases so the robot can understand questions and answer accurately. The robot currently communicates in English, with a Latvian-language module planned for the future.

Financial education for students

Because Digilo works in finance, lending and investment, the team sees a chance to use the robot as an interactive teacher. Together with educational institutions, including the first Riga schools to show interest, it plans to discuss personal budgeting and savings, interest rates and compound interest, risk assessment, and online safety and protection against financial fraud. Gamification elements, scenario games and discussions will be used.

The robot has already visited the Valmiera SOS Children's Village and several preschools, and multiple visits to Riga schools are scheduled. The RoboReady team is a round-2 laureate of the "Ideju kauss" business idea contest and will appear at the RIGA COMM 2026 exhibition. To keep the information safe and accurate, a hybrid model is used: core educational content is prepared and checked in advance, while AI helps sustain a natural conversation and adapt the explanation to the audience's age.

In the future, the robot is also to serve at industry conferences and Digilo stands, explaining to visitors and potential investors concepts such as LTV (loan-to-value), mortgage collateral and minimum investment terms.
