Latvia's national football team failed to score again but earned its first point of the campaign in a 0:0 home draw against Cyprus in the UEFA Nations League. Goalkeeper Rihards Matrevics made five saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Latvia's national football team continued its UEFA Nations League campaign in League C, Group 2, hosting Cyprus at Skonto Stadium in Riga.
It was the second consecutive match in which the Latvian side failed to find the net. However, unlike the previous game, this time the team led by head coach Paolo Nicolato secured its first point of this stage of the tournament, with the match ending in a 0:0 draw.
Matrevics delivers a solid performance in goal
Goalkeeper Rihards Matrevics stood out for Latvia, delivering a confident display and saving five shots from the Cypriot attackers to keep a clean sheet.
With this result, Latvia added its first point to its tally, though the team has still not scored in its last two matches.
