Participants in the Latvia's Car of the Year 2027 competition set off on a summer drive toward Tērvete, covering a route of more than 400 kilometers in a single day to test 19 of the newest car models vying for this year's title.

Models tested

The drive featured a wide range of vehicles from different segments and manufacturers. Cars included in the test were the Toyota bZ4X Touring, Toyota C-HR+, Citroën C5 Aircross, Lynk & Co 08, Jaecoo 7, MG S9, Chery Tiggo 9 Plug-In, Lexus RZ, Omoda 9, Zeekr 7X, Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ, Lexus ES, Zeekr 7GT, Cupra Raval, Renault Clio, Peugeot 408, Nissan Leaf, Kia Seltos and Toyota Hilux EV.

The lineup reflects current trends in the car market, combining fully electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and traditional combustion-engine models, alongside several Chinese brands that have become increasingly active in the European and Baltic markets in recent years.

Part of a larger evaluation

The drive forms part of the broader Latvia's Car of the Year 2027 evaluation process, which is divided into several series. Video footage of the drive to and from Tērvete has also been prepared, documenting how the vehicle testing unfolded.
