Latvian IT Company's Public Sector Solution Receives European Recognition

A tool for cooperation between state institutions

A Latvian information technology company has developed a digital solution created for the needs of the State Regional Development Agency. The system allows different public administration bodies to securely exchange data with one another.

The aim of the solution is to reduce bureaucratic burden for residents. Thanks to secure data exchange between institutions, people will no longer need to repeatedly submit information that the state administration already holds from other sources. In practice, this means one institution will be able to use data already available to another institution, instead of requesting the same information from a person again each time a new service is needed.

Recognition at European level

For this solution, the Latvian company has received recognition at the European level. This indicates that digital governance solutions developed in Latvia are also being valued outside the country's borders and can serve as an example for other states working on implementing similar data-exchange systems.

In recent years, the development of digital services and interoperability between state institutions has been considered one of the priorities of public administration modernization. Solutions of this kind simplify how residents interact with the state, reduce the need to visit multiple institutions, and decrease the volume of paper documents that must be submitted.

The international recognition confirms that Latvia's IT sector has the competence to develop complex, secure solutions used within critical state infrastructure, and that this experience could also prove useful for digital governance projects in other countries.
