Latvian National Opera and Ballet opens new season with Gala concert
On September 3, the Latvian National Opera and Ballet held a Gala concert to mark the opening of its 2026/2027 season, attended by several well-known guests. A reception followed the performance.

On Thursday, September 3, the Latvian National Opera and Ballet (LNOB) formally opened its new 2026/2027 season with a Gala concert, followed by a reception for attendees.
Programme in two parts
The evening's programme was divided into two sections – the first dedicated to ballet, the second to opera. Soloists of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet performed pieces giving the audience a preview of the new productions planned for the upcoming season.
Highlights from past seasons
Alongside the preview of what's to come, the performers also revisited some of the most memorable artistic achievements from previous seasons' productions. The event drew a number of well-known guests, including figures such as Zatlers, Rubenis and Dāvis, who joined other invited guests in celebrating the start of the new opera and ballet season.
