Latvian citizen sentenced to five and a half years for espionage in favor of Russian military intelligence

A Latvian citizen has been sentenced to five years and six months in prison for espionage on behalf of the Russian military intelligence (GRU).

The Prosecutor's Office reported that a Latvian citizen has been sentenced to five years and six months in prison for espionage in the interests of the Russian military intelligence (GRU). Additionally, the court imposed one year and eight months of probation supervision. The defendant has been in custody since October 2025.
