Latvia's women's beach volleyball team misses Nations Cup semifinals after loss to Slovenia
Despite a win from Graudiņa/Samoilova, Latvia's women's team lost the golden set against Slovenia in the quarterfinals, ending their run in the tournament.

Quarterfinal exit
Latvia's women's beach volleyball team failed to advance to the semifinals of the CEV Nations Cup final tournament on Sunday, July 17. After the first two matches, the score was tied 1-1 against Slovenia, but the decisive golden set saw Tina Graudiņa and Līva Ēbere lose 16-18 to their Slovenian opponents, eliminating Latvia.
Pair performances
In the first match, the Latvian second pair Līva Ēbere and Deniela Konstantinova lost to Slovenia's Kotnika and Lovsina 19-21, 12-21. However, Anastasija Samoilova and Tina Graudiņa dominated their match against Marolta and Javornika, winning 21-11, 21-12 to level the tie.
For the golden set, the duo of Graudiņa and Ēbere faced Javornika and Lovsina. The Latvians trailed early but fought back to 14-14. In the end, the Slovenians had the edge, sealing the victory with an ace for 16-18.
Men's team still hopeful
Latvia's men's team (Mārtiņš Pļaviņš/Kristians Fokerots, Edgars Točs/Gustavs Auziņš) will play their quarterfinal on July 18. The winner of the tournament earns an additional quota for the 2026 European Championship, which is crucial for pairs that otherwise may not qualify by ranking.
