Latvian beach volleyball teams exit early in Gstaad Elite 16 tournament
Both Latvian duos were eliminated in the round of 16 at the prestigious Gstaad Beach Pro Elite 16 event.
The elite Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland, ended earlier than hoped for Latvian teams. In the round of 16, the women's duo Tina Graudiņa and Līva Ēbere lost to the reigning Olympic champions from Brazil, while the men's pair Mārtiņš Plāviņš and Kristians Fokerots suffered an unexpected defeat against a relatively unknown Israeli team. Consequently, Latvia's participation in the tournament concluded at the round of 16 stage. The Gstaad Elite 16 event features top-level beach volleyball pairs from around the world.
