The Latvian Radio Choir has unveiled its new season schedule, promising a rich program from September to December with internationally acclaimed artists. The opening concert 'Prayer for Peace' on September 25 will focus on the search for peace, featuring works by Arvo Pärt, Gija Kancheli, Rihards Dubra, and others. Artistic director Sigvards Kļava describes the concert as his inner need for an island of peace in troubled times, with percussionist Guntars Freibergs taking a special role.

On October 17, the concert 'The Way to Santiago' will mark the Latvian premiere of British composer Joby Talbot's monumental work 'Path of Miracles.' The piece, depicting a pilgrim's journey, uses multiple languages and vocal techniques to create a spatial sound experience.

Before embarking on a tour of Australia, the choir will perform with flutist Genevieve Lacey in Riga on October 28 in the concert 'Australian Bird Songs.' Lacey, described by Australian media as an exceptional storyteller and bold risk-taker, will also join the choir in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, and Sydney. The program revolves around bird song, including music by Pēteris Vasks and Arvo Pärt, as well as premieres: Ēriks Ešenvalds' 'Swan Song' and two new works by Australian musicians Hollis Taylor and John Rose.

The winter series concludes on December 11 with the concert 'Silent Night' alongside world-renowned jazz and ambient trumpeter Arve Henriksen. This collaboration continues after the successful project 'Night Letters to a Dancer,' with Henriksen's album 'Cartography' considered a significant 21st-century recording.

Additionally, the choir will participate in the Ruhrtriennale in Germany with the musical 'Sidharta' based on Hermann Hesse's story, directed by Flemish director Lisaboa Houbrechts, featuring music by Caroline Shaw. The performance will be staged in Riga's Dailes Theatre from October 21-23, as well as in Antwerp, Amsterdam, and Lisbon.

A special season subscription is available at a friendly price, with limited numbers. Tickets for individual concerts and subscriptions are available at 'Biļešu paradīze' and online.
