“Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss” cancels 46 routes towards Ādaži due to driver shortage
On Friday and Saturday, “Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss” cancelled 46 routes in the Ādaži direction citing a lack of drivers. The Transport Minister has demanded an explanation from the ATD.

On Friday and Saturday, “Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss” cancelled a total of 46 bus routes serving the Ādaži area. The company stated that all cancellations were due to the absence of a driver. Most of the cancelled routes either originate or terminate in Riga. For instance, six services on the Riga–Ādaži–Kadaga route and six on the reverse direction were cancelled, as well as two services on the Riga–Ādaži–Carnikava (Market) route and the opposite direction, and one service on the Ādaži Centre–Riga route, among others.
Transport Minister Rihards Kozlovskis (JV) announced on Friday evening that he expects an explanation from the Road Transport Administration (ATD) in the coming days regarding the cancelled routes. He also wants a clear plan to address the situation in the near future, especially during the summer period. Kozlovskis stressed that in organizing regional passenger transport, the priority is to ensure that changes do not affect people’s mobility, but that currently the opposite is happening. “It is unacceptable that the competition between companies impacts the schedule of regional bus services,” the minister said.
According to available financial data, in 2024 “Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss” reported a turnover of €11.977 million and a loss of €921,147. Financial figures for 2025 have not yet been published. The company was registered in 1996 and is owned by Bus Group, registered in Malta, with the true beneficiaries being Adrians Brandavs and Aleksandrs Brandavs.
