Latvian women's beach volleyball team loses in CEV Nations Cup quarterfinals

Latvia's women's beach volleyball team lost to Slovenia in the quarterfinals on Friday, with Graudiņa/Samoilova falling in the golden set.

The Latvian women's beach volleyball team suffered a loss in the quarterfinals of the CEV Nations Cup final tournament against Slovenia on Friday.

In the final A group match against Italy, Līva Ēbere and Deniela Konstantinova lost 0-2, but Tīna Graudiņa and Anastasija Samoilova came from behind to win 2-1, securing a draw for the group.

In the quarterfinals against Slovenia, Ēbere/Konstantinova again lost 0-2, while Graudiņa/Samoilova won convincingly 2-0. The decisive golden set saw Graudiņa/Samoilova lose 16-18 to the Slovenian pair.

Earlier on Thursday, the Latvian women's team played a draw against the Czech Republic and defeated Norway.

In the men's tournament, Latvia's A group ended with a draw against Israel, a win over Portugal, and another draw against Norway, advancing to the quarterfinals where they will face Hungary on Saturday.

The CEV Nations Cup final tournament features the top eight men's and women's teams. The top three teams will receive prize money ranging from 6,500 to 15,000 euros, while the winners will earn a quota spot for the 2026 European Championship finals.
