Latvian stage artists take part in theatre festival in Italy

The Italian city of Rimini, birthplace of director Federico Fellini, is currently hosting the theatre festival "Le città visibili" ("Visible Cities"). Its program included a special presentation of a joint Latvian-Italian production titled "The War Hasn't Started Yet".

The piece was shown at the festival as a "work in progress", meaning the project is still in development and not yet fully completed.

Several Latvian artists and professionals are involved in the international collaboration. Composer Toms Auniņš is creating the music for the production, while costume designer Berta Vilipsone-Ieleja is responsible for the costumes. The project is produced by theatre producer Jevgeņija Šermeņeva, who heads the theatre company "KatlZ Riga".

The joint production reflects continued international cooperation by Latvian theatre professionals, who are presenting their new projects at major European theatre forums even while the works are still being developed.
