Latvian canoeists fail to qualify in world championship slalom cross
Latvian canoeists Plaudis and Tāre did not advance to the elimination rounds in the World Championships in canoe slalom cross. Plaudis placed 52nd, Tāre 59th.

In the World Championships in canoe slalom cross, Latvian athletes failed to qualify for the elimination rounds. In the men's competition, Miks Plaudis completed the course in 53.20 seconds, trailing the leader, Great Britain's Joseph Clarke, by 6.66 seconds. Among 75 participants, Plaudis finished 52nd, while only the top 42 advanced.
In the women's event, Laura Tāre clocked 66.17 seconds, finishing 15.12 seconds behind the leader, Australia's Jessica Fox. She made an error at the start and placed 59th out of 61 starters. Again, only the top 42 qualified. The championships conclude on Saturday.
