Latvian tennis player and future college teammate win W15 doubles silver
A Latvian tennis player and her future University of Washington teammate have become vice-champions in a W15 doubles tournament.

A Latvian tennis player, together with a Romanian partner who will be her teammate at the University of Washington next NCAA season, finished as runners-up in a W15 doubles event.
In the first round, the Latvian-Romanian duo upset the top seeds from Argentina and Romania with a score of 6:2, 2:6, 12-10, despite the favorites being given odds of 1.08 by bookmakers. They followed with convincing wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals.
In the final, the 19- and 20-year-old players lost to the second-seeded Romanian pair 4:6, 6:2, 8-10. The total points were 59-60 in favor of the opponents. As vice-champions, they earn approximately $515 in prize money and ten ranking points.
