Latvia's U-16 women's basketball team beats Lithuania in Baltic Cup
Latvia's U-16 women's basketball team defeated Lithuania 66:51 in Riga on Saturday, securing their second Baltic Cup victory.

The Latvian U-16 women's basketball team earned an important win in their second Baltic Cup match on Saturday in Riga, beating Lithuania 66:51. The quarter scores were 17:10, 11:14, 21:17, and 17:10, allowing the hosts to maintain control throughout the game.
Melānija Ieva Sīpoliņa led the winners with 21 points. Team captain Marta Pētersone contributed 15 points, five rebounds, seven turnovers, and six drawn fouls. Laura Ķikuste added ten points but committed five turnovers.
For Lithuania, Urte Gurevičūte recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, and five turnovers. Kotrīna Grunkīte scored ten points with eight rebounds and five turnovers, while Urte Obrikaite also had ten points but turned the ball over seven times.
On Sunday at 4:00 PM local time, Latvia's girls will face Ukraine, while at 6:30 PM the Latvian and Spanish cadet teams will take the court. The tournament features boys' teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Spain, and girls' teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Ukraine.
Additionally, on August 6–7, the Latvian cadet girls' team will play two friendly matches against their Czech counterparts in Dečin.
