Latvia's U-16 basketball women lose in semifinal, to fight for bronze against France

Latvia's U-16 women's national basketball team played in the semifinal of the European U-16 Championship in the Romanian city of Pitesti on Friday, losing to Spain's national team.

The semifinal defeat means Latvia's young basketball players are out of contention for the title, but they still have a chance to win a medal. On Saturday, the team will face France in the match for third place.

A win over the French team would earn Latvia's U-16 national team a bronze medal at the European Championship.
