Latvia's U-20 Women's Basketball Team Continues Unbeaten; Face Croatia in Round of 16 Today
Latvia's U-20 women's basketball team secured their third consecutive victory at the European Championship in Klaipeda, defeating Hungary, and will play Croatia in the round of 16 today.

Latvia's U-20 women's basketball team continues their strong performance at the European Junior Championship in Klaipeda. On Tuesday, they achieved their third victory in the group stage, beating Hungary 78:64. Mila Luzgina led the team with 16 points, Estere Petrus contributed 13 points and six assists, while Evelīna Otto and Anna Liepiņa each added 12 points, with Liepiņa also grabbing nine rebounds. For Hungary, guard Leila Dragoša scored 18 points.
In Group B, Latvia finished with three wins, Germany with two, Hungary with one, and Sweden with three losses. Earlier Tuesday, Germany defeated Sweden 72:44.
Today at 8:30 PM local time, Latvia will face Croatia in the round of 16. Croatia finished fourth in Group A. In their group stage matches, Latvia first beat Sweden 70:63 and then Germany 70:60. Hungary lost to Germany 50:64 but later defeated Sweden 64:59.
Before the championship, Latvia played several friendlies. They lost twice to Poland (60:64 and 74:76), split two games with Lithuania (74:77 and 76:74), won twice against Ukraine (64:54 and 82:77), and lost twice to Spain (57:80 and 51:66).
The European U-20 Championship will conclude on Sunday. The teams finishing in the last three places will be relegated from Division A.
