Latvia's U-20 basketball team crushes Romania, continues fight for ninth place
Latvia's young basketball players defeated Romania 94-60 in the European U-20 Championship, advancing to the 9th-12th place playoffs.

Latvia's U-20 men's basketball team secured a convincing victory over Romania on Thursday, July 18, in Ljubljana, with a score of 94:60. The win allows the Latvians to continue competing for 9th-12th place in the European Championship.
From the opening minutes, the Latvian players took control and gradually extended their lead. Quarter scores: 20:11, 29:20, 18:15, 27:14.
Rolands Šulcs led the Latvian team with 27 points. Markuss Graudiņš added 16 points, and Mārtiņš Kilups contributed 14 points.
For Romania, Luka Illess recorded 14 points, seven rebounds, and five turnovers, while Kodruts Dinu had 12 points and five personal fouls.
The Latvian U-20 team will next face the winner of the Italy vs. Israel match on Saturday.
Earlier in the tournament, Latvia finished third in Group B after losing 78:104 to Lithuania, defeating Poland 77:68, and losing 66:89 to Serbia. In the round of 16, they lost 72:88 to Germany.
