The Latvian U17 women's national basketball team secured a convincing 69-44 victory over Ivory Coast on Sunday, July 12. The Latvians showcased an exceptional performance, particularly in the third quarter, where they went on a 20-3 run, limiting their opponents to just three points.

Šarlote Skrebele stood out with an outstanding individual performance, scoring 26 points, including six three-pointers. Overall, Latvia made 10 of 29 attempts from beyond the arc, while Ivory Coast managed only 1 of 11 three-point shots.

Despite Ivory Coast's athleticism and 19 steals, they were unable to capitalize effectively. Latvia's transition offense proved more organized and efficient, allowing them to punish the opponent's mistakes.

Earlier, in a preparation tournament on La Palma island a week ago, Latvia had also defeated Ivory Coast 74-51, sinking 12 three-pointers.

Latvia's next game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, at 3:45 PM against the United States. All teams have already secured their spots in the quarterfinals.
