Latvian U19 floorball team candidates start well at international tournament in Prague
The candidates for the Latvian men's U19 floorball team, split into two squads, have achieved three wins and one draw on the first day of the 'Prague Games 2026' international tournament.

Thirty candidates for the Latvian men's U19 floorball national team are participating in the 'Prague Games 2026' tournament, held in Prague, Czech Republic, from July 8 to 11. The players are divided into two squads – 'Latvia RED' and 'Latvia WHITE'. On the first day, both teams played two group-stage matches each, securing a combined total of three victories and one draw.
'Latvia RED' defeated Sweden's 'Hagfors IBS' 3–1, with goals from Cimža, Spunde, and Niedrājs. In their second match, the red squad beat Czech team 'BLACK ANGELS' 4–2, with goals by Feldmanis, Alviķis, Petrovskis, and Spunde.
'Latvia WHITE' started with a 4–3 win over Czech 'Wizards SO Praha 10', with goals from Saļkovs, Upītis, Felšus, and R. Ābele. Their second match ended in a 3–3 draw against Switzerland's 'Floorball Bern', with goals by R. Ābele, Vaļuks, and H. Ābele.
The group stage will continue tomorrow, with both Latvian teams playing their remaining matches. A total of 30 candidates from various clubs in Latvia and abroad are attending the tournament, along with a coaching staff led by head coach Artis Raitums.
