Women's team vs. France
Latvia's women's squad, featuring Ieva Korzāne, Marta Leimane, Adelīna Urtāne and Evija Ķīvīte, will face France in the quarterfinal. The French side topped their group, defeating the Philippines, China, Italy and Egypt. Latvia's women earned a technical win over Madagascar, lost narrowly by one point to Spain, and posted convincing victories over Uganda and Tonga. The match against France is set to begin Saturday at 8:20 a.m. Latvian time.
Men's team vs. USA
Latvia's men's team, with Kristofers Karlsons, Mārtiņš Zviedris, Dāvis Skreiveris and Mārtiņš Bumbieris, won all four of their group-stage games, beating New Zealand, Spain, the Philippines and Egypt. In the quarterfinal at 11:00 a.m., they will meet the United States, which already suffered a loss to Lithuania during the tournament but defeated Argentina, Korea and China.
