Latvia and Lithuania U20 teams miss EuroBasket quarterfinals
Both Latvian and Lithuanian U20 basketball teams suffered defeats in the round of 16 on Wednesday and were eliminated from the European Championship in Slovenia.

Latvia loses to Germany
Latvia's U20 basketball team lost 72:88 to Germany in the round of 16 in Ljubljana on Wednesday, failing to reach the quarterfinals for the second consecutive year. The Latvians could not stop the German offense and lost by 16 points.
Lithuania falls to Turkey
Lithuania also faced disappointment, losing 61:67 to Turkey in the round of 16. Despite dominating the group stage with wins over Latvia (104:78) and Poland (112:67), the Lithuanians struggled with consistency in the elimination game – quarter scores 16:25, 18:12, 6:18, and 21:12. Lithuanian star Mantas Juzenas, who scored 46 points against Poland earlier, managed only 3-of-10 from the field, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Turkey's Kan Onat stood out with 23 points (10/19 FG), 12 rebounds, five turnovers, and five steals in 35 minutes.

Other round of 16 games: Spain – Romania 77:59, Serbia – Italy 86:63, Greece – Israel 79:66, France – Poland 90:79, Croatia – Czech Republic 93:69, Slovenia – Belgium 88:61. Greece defeated Israel in an elimination game for the third consecutive year.
Quarterfinal matchups
Quarterfinals will be played on July 16: 14:30 France – Croatia, 17:00 Germany – Spain, 19:30 Slovenia – Turkey, 22:00 Serbia – Greece.
Latvia will now compete for positions 9-16, starting with a game against Romania. Lithuania will face Belgium in the consolation bracket.
