Latvia University 3x3 basketball team reaches EUSA Games semifinal
The University of Latvia men's 3x3 basketball team cruised past Vytautas Magnus University in the quarterfinals on Saturday, August 1, and advanced to the semifinals of the European Universities Games. They will face the University of Seville later today.

The University of Latvia men's 3x3 basketball team is through to the semifinals at the European Universities Games (EUSA Games) in Italy's Salerno province. On Saturday, August 1, the Latvians took part in the knockout stage and delivered a strong quarterfinal display against Vytautas Magnus University from Lithuania. The 21:13 scoreline sent the University of Latvia (LU) into the next round.
LU's roster for the tournament includes Davis Skreivers, Edvards Lucis, Martins Evarts Zviedris and Martins Piternieks. In the quarterfinal, Martins Piternieks was the team's leading scorer with eight points. Martins Evarts Zviedris added seven points, while Davis Skreivers contributed five. Edvards Lucis rounded out the scoring with one point. The balanced offensive output helped the team keep control and finish the game with a comfortable advantage.
The semifinal is scheduled for today at 18:25 Latvian time. LU will face the University of Seville from Spain. The winner will advance to the final, while the loser will still have a chance to play for third place. The EUSA Games bring together university teams from different European countries, and a place in the medal round is now within reach for the Latvian side.
