Latvia’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Sanita Pavļuta-Deslandes, on Monday emphasized at an emergency UN Security Council meeting on maintaining peace and security in Ukraine that Russia continues to intensify a deliberate campaign of attacks against civilians in densely populated Ukrainian territories.
The statement was made during a meeting convened in response to ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. Pavļuta-Deslandes highlighted that these attacks are intentional and target civilians, constituting a clear violation of international humanitarian law.
