Latvia men's beach volleyball team reaches CEV Nations Cup semifinals
Latvia's men's beach volleyball team defeated Hungary in the quarterfinals on Saturday to secure a spot in the CEV Nations Cup semifinals.

The Latvian men's beach volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the CEV Nations Cup final tournament on Saturday, July 18. In the quarterfinal against Hungary, three matches were played. Edgars Točs and Gustavs Auziņš lost 0-2 (12:21, 20:22) to Hungarian pair Domonkos Dóczi and Bence Tari, while Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Kristians Fokerots won 2-0 (21:19, 21:15) against Artúr Hajós and Lukács Niemeier. In the decisive match, Fokerots and Auziņš won the golden set 18-16 against Hajós and Tari, securing Latvia's place in the semifinals.
The semifinal and final are scheduled for Sunday. Earlier in the group stage, on Thursday, the Latvians drew 1-1 with Israel and beat Portugal 2-0, and on Friday they drew 1-1 with Norway.
In the women's tournament, Latvia's team had one draw and one win on Thursday, then drew with Italy on Friday. In the quarterfinal, the Latvian women lost 1-2 to Slovenia.
The CEV Nations Cup final tournament features eight top men's and women's national teams. The top three teams will receive prize money of €15,000, €10,000, and €6,500, while the winners will earn an additional quota for the 2026 European Championship final tournament.
