Latvian volleyball teams start preparation, opponents set for pre-EC friendlies
Both women's and men's teams resume training in late July and early August, with friendly matches scheduled before the European Championship final tournaments.

The Latvian Volleyball Federation has announced the preparation plans for the national teams ahead of the upcoming European Championships. The women's team will resume training on Wednesday, July 22, while the men's team will gather for their first joint session on August 3. Until then, athletes maintain their form through individual open training sessions.
The women had very short holidays after the conclusion of the European League, as training continued. Their first friendly matches are scheduled for August 6 and 7, when they will travel to Azerbaijan. Then on August 16 and 17, they will face Croatia at home.
The men's team's first friendlies are planned for August 26 and 27 at home against Denmark. Subsequently, from September 2 to 4, a tournament will take place in Tallinn featuring Estonia, Ukraine, and Slovakia.
The women's European Championship runs from August 24 to September 6. Latvia's team is placed in a strong Group A alongside Turkey, Poland, Germany, Slovenia, and Hungary. The men's tournament will be held from September 10 to 26, with Latvia in Group D against Romania, France, Germany, Turkey, and Switzerland.
In both championships, the top four teams from each group advance to the round of 16.
