Latvia's women's national volleyball team is competing in the European Championship final tournament for the first time in 29 years, opening with a match against world No. 3 Turkey.

Latvia's women's national volleyball team has returned to the European Championship final tournament after a 29-year absence, marking a return to the continent's top stage of the sport.
In their opening match of the tournament, the Latvian team faces Turkey, a side currently ranked third in the world. This means Latvia's players are tested immediately against one of the strongest opponents in the entire championship.
The match will be broadcast live on the LTV7 channel as well as on the LSM.lv website.
The national team's return to the major European volleyball stage after such a long gap marks a significant moment for the sport in Latvia, with the clash against Turkey serving as an early measure of the squad's strength against one of the tournament favorites.
